So Sesame Street is 40 years old. 40 years of educating children, not bad at all. Thats 3 different generations. Actually 4.

I remember growing up watching this ridiculous program filled with reruns and the most predictable storyline in history, not sure why I bother tuning in again the next day. We all know the sesame street is actually not just a street, and muppets are not real.

Favourite muppet of all time has to be between Ernie and Elmo. And since everyone loves Elmo so damn much, I will side Ernie this time.

Who was your favourite muppet? Or should I say what?

The upcoming week shall be the busiest week I will ever experience in 2009 and no I'm not joking.

    Here is the line up.

3 projects due this week, with 1 presentation to prepare for. How major are these? Very much so. We are talking about 60% of subject marks here. The term do or die comes in mind. By this time next week I would be able to breathe again, slightly before preparing for the degree finale coming right up.

On another note, I just took 60 hours off uni work doing everything buy uni work. I have convinced myself that this was done to keep myself sane, but we'll see if it was a good idea.

I shall head off to prepare some lunch now before moving to the library. Wish me luck!

    Good News of the day:
Just finished a presentation and handed in a report which marks the end of 1 subject. 1 down 4 to go.

    Bad News of the day:
My attention span is seriously short. I went to the library to work on something and came back 20 minutes later. Fail.

Thank you to everyone that nudged me on msn, gmail chat thingy, facebook, twitter, called me up and even invited me out for a bit to see if I'm fine. Really made my day talking to all of you. Honestly I'm still hovering between the depression and acceptance phase but every bit of what you guys have done made things easier.

On another note, I really need to get work done now.

Its official. Junella and I are over. I'm not going to lie, my mind is constantly filled with slide shows of the past 4 years with the cheesiest music.

On the other hand,  if it had to end, it should end on a good note. Which it did.

If you see me on msn, feel free to give me a nudge.

Believe it or not, I went to my final Uni class today. Sure I have up coming presentations, seminars, consultation with my supervisors, meetings with my groups, hours of slaving away in the library, but as a normal class where I walk in and just sit and listen and perhaps participate, I just had my last one of my degree. It was not as significant as I thought it would be until a friend of mine mentioned about it.

Technically we have one more week of Uni for the semester after this and there is the study break and the exam periods. But I have no more classes next week, so yeah.

And to all the people who asked me, "When are your exams?" I'm pretty sick and tired of answering this so I hope this would be the last time.

I have no exams this semester. However, the subjects I am enrolled in requires me to work through the exam period and while some of my peers would be studying and revising their material, I would be slaving away in front of the computer writing reports, and preparing submissions and presentations. So technically, the Swotvac and exam period means nothing to me. Basically its like the semester continues. And week 12 is like any other week with a hell lot of deadlines.

Speaking of which, I better get back to work.

108 Sun Salutations. What on earth is that? Well here's a video that pretty much explains itself.

From my understanding this is a yoga movement that takes 2 hours to complete. And its a lot harder than it sounds.

Doing something relatively extreme means its a good time to raise money for charity. Good friend of mine, Bev will be participating in a Yoga aid charity where she will be waking up early and will be performing this very difficult procedure for 2 hours.

If you are interested: 6am, The Esplanade, Riverside Dr, Perth on SUNDAY, 15th November 2009.

And yes, charity. The charity of choice would be the NELUNE foundation. This foundation is to help ease the burden of cancer patients who may not have the support or resources that are needed to cope with this life threatening illness. A wise friend once told me everyone will get cancer and die! But seriously though, a tiny bit of money can change a persons last few moments in life.

I know most of you are really stingy people. So here is your chance to prove me wrong.
So click here and donate from your heart. Every dollar counts.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been pretty occupied with a couple of things.

I've just updated to Windows 7 and there is a lot of setting up to do, ignoring all my uni work in the process. 2 weeks of classes left, so many things to do. I predict at least 4 all nighters coming up in the next 2 weeks.

So anyways, If you are a Uni student in Australia like myself, you can upgrade to windows 7 professional for $49.95!! a bargain if you considered getting it for $199. Nope, not a scam, and this is not an ad. Just click here. All you need is a uni email if your institution must be listed.

Well, if you are running a home premium version of Vista, upgrading to professional would mean you need to install everything from scratch again. Which I found out yesterday =(

This is the part where I realised that there is only 3 weeks left into the semester and technically I'm doing 6 subjects, and 5 of them requires a serious amount of submission in the coming 3 weeks. I'm more screwed than realised.

This one is for those who don't believe I was once so skinny, my parents actually worry about me not eating enough.

Judging by the long pants and the nike watch, this should be when I was in form 4 (when I was 16). My friend tagged this in Facebook, and to be honest, I still cant believe I was ever that skinny.

Oh and by the way, I have no idea what I was receiving.

Just got back from Go-karting and is now currently resting before attending a party tonight =)

Go karting was fun ass. We did the whole thing from the qualifying rounds to the race, total of 30 laps at 650m per lap.

Qualifying was awesome and I finished 2nd out of 10 so I fancied my chances.

The guy ahead of me was clearly a seasoned racer. He was so fast, and even faster in the corners, I knew it would be impossible for me to overtake him, so lap 3, my aim was to finish second.

Long story cut short, I over steered 3 times which resulted in a spin, one of which caused me to get badly hit by another kart, (in the F1 world, it could be a career shortening accident), lost a couple of spots, did a fair bit of overtaking, have a good battle with 2 other drivers and ended up finishing forth. The top three gets to keep a tiny plastic trophy each, which for a moment, I was really interested in.

But yeah, I want to do it again. Who's up for some go-karting?

    And its Wednesday.

I got an email today about my race in the last weekend. Apparently the 10km and 5km event were wrongly measured at 9.2km and 4.5km respectively. Wow. Mine was fine though.

My legs are much better now, I just climb down stairs slower, thanks for asking.

Currently hooked to NBA 2k10. Anybody out there with the original copy, wanna join my crew and play online?

My Aunt whom I have not seen since March and before I've only remembered meeting when I was 10 emailed me today. A pleasant surprise.

Which comes to the point where this week is actually a good uni week with no deadlines. I can't say the same about next week and the week after though. I should get started on something instead of procrastinating again.

Apparently I don't have work this Friday, a huge blow to my income. Boo! And with the Birthdays coming up this month, I would barely have any money for myself =(

Anyone out there is in Google Wave? Send me an invite.

And I did the half marathon this morning. This is where I analyse whether it was a good idea to downgrade my event from the marathon to the half marathon, well because I've been slacking in training. 2 months ago, leading up to the end of August, I clocked 5 to 15km per week of jogging. Not enough really, but it's sure better than nothing. And all September until yesterday, the only run I ever did was to catch a train which I knew I would miss anyways.

I tweeted the whole event (yes I carried my phone and looked like the guy who is addicted to texting even during a race). In case if you missed anything, I just copied everything over in chronological order.

    # I'm up! Time for some breakfast meant for champions! about 9 hours ago from Echofon

    # vaseline up!about 9 hours ago from Echofon
I have blister problems. Petroleum Jelly is a must!

    # The taxi i booked did not show up. I might be late. Fml about 8 hours ago from mobile web
1st setback of the day already. Bloody! I'm complaining after this.
    # Finally here. N i'm not late =D about 8 hours ago from mobile web

    # Will be carrying my phone for this run. Expect updates. Less than 20 mins to go.about 7 hours ago from mobile web

    # Walkin to the starting line. Its like 1k away.about 7 hours ago from mobile web

    # @tzywen thanks =)about 7 hours ago from mobile web

    # Bang goes the gun. And still not moving.about 7 hours ago from mobile web
As usual, I start somewhere near the back. It feels better to overtake people than having others overtake you. One thing I should note about this run. I would categorise the civillian runners in terms of serious runners, casual runners and Just for fun (JFF) runners. Serious runners are those who train well and takes the run very seriously. I consider myself casual, and the JFFs are those who are just there just for the sake of it. Either to support a charity or maybe they were dared. Now usually, a fun run consist of a loot of serious runners, a fair number of casuals and a small amount of JFFs. For this one, I think the ratio is 200 : 20 : 0.1. Very large field of serious runners! I knew that I'm gonna finish in the bottom half.

    # And 21.1k.. here we go about 7 hours ago from mobile web

    # 1st toilet break. Just shaved 10 mins off my time.about 6 hours ago from mobile web
I need to stop taking toilet breaks. Affects my time dearly =( Que bloody long.
    # @sel375 thanksabout 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # Just pass 7k markabout 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # Omg started to feel potential blister already.about 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # Pass 9k. Last k was slow =(about 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # 10k. I think its been 1 hr 5 mins ish about 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # Half way mark! 11ks to go about 6 hours ago from mobile web
Also, there are pacers in the race. Basically, someone volunteered to run the event in a bright coloured uniform with a flag stating the expected finish time, 1 and half hour, 1 hour 40 minutes, etc. The main purpose of the pacers are for people to follow them if they want to complete the race in that particular time. The advantage is, you pace with a group at a certain speed. I should have followed one. I did the first portion of the race too quickly. I overtook 2 of these pacers, and later the overtook me. =(

    # Toilet break. Another 5 mins added about 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # Right foot hurts. Gonna walk for a whileabout 6 hours ago from mobile web

    # I don know how many ks remaining, but now both my feet hurts.about 5 hours ago from mobile web

    # Very slow now, feet hurts n i'm hungryabout 5 hours ago from mobile web
I think this is from the style of my run. Got very clumsy. I even kicked myself in the ankle a couple of times, and now its bruised.

This picture does not justify the bruise..

    # Not so sure how far left. Maybe 3k? No markers anymore. I should try finish this in 30 minsabout 5 hours ago from mobile web
I don't know why but they suddenly stop having markers. There was at least 5 kilometers to go instead of 3.

    # Random person offered us jellybellies. =)about 5 hours ago from mobile web
Funny but true. He randomly walk over with a container with jelly bellies. 20 karma points to him

    # Cramp! Fmlabout 5 hours ago from mobile web

    # Back up. Thank you random stranger. Gonna walk for a bit about 5 hours ago from mobile web
    How embarrassing!

    # 1k to go. Gonna reserve my energy for the final sprint. about 5 hours ago from mobile web

    # Hello mcg!about 4 hours ago from mobile web

    # 200ms to go! Go go!about 4 hours ago from mobile web
Surprisingly there were at least 4000 spectators that came to watch, and they were wondering why this person is texting while running. Well, for the last 150m, I tried my best to sprint pass my competitors got a bit of cheering from the crowd!

    # 2 hours 40 mins for 21.1k. Well, more o less wad i expected. Wad did u do today?about 4 hours ago from mobile web

Okay, my target was 2:30:00 but I expected to do 2:40:00ish, which I did. Waiting for the official results. I hope I end up in the 2:3*:** bracket. Anything above 2:45:00 I would be greatly disappointed.

    # This is the part where i choose to either support the ppl still running or laugh at them.about 4 hours ago from mobile web
Did neither. I limped to the toilets.

Overall I was quite pleased that I switched to the Half Marathon. 21.1km is still a very respected distance. I'm not sure if I would have finished 42.2ks in time.

Then went to McD and treated myself to the most expensive item, and all the calories burnt is gained back again. FML.

So tomorrow is my run. (I will be tweeting during the run, so follow me if you bother =D) And I went out to get my show bag trying to avoid the big crowd.

Ooo.. Mystery green bag. Everything you expect to be in there is in there.

heaps of pamphlets from sponsors that goes straight to the recycle bin

Powerade drink. Also one of the sponsors.

A gym sack. Apparently the Marathon runners are getting a towel, and the 10km runners are getting a mug. To be honest, I prefer any one of those over the gym sack, but one day it might come in handy.

Salonpas pain relief patch. Could really come in handy tomorrow. And last but not least,

    Tuna and Beans? Wtf?

Like many times before this, I would put on a clothed jacket and endure strong winds to get a computer in the library after dinner. Usually, I set a goal or a purpose to accomplish to justify the need to even leave the house in the first place, because quite frankly, I rather lie in bed, eat popcorn and watch some newly downloaded comedy. But for the sake of my education, I would slave myself into boring evenings writing reports that I could never understand anyways.

Tonight's target was simple, show up, finish off 2 submissions for the week, totalling in 2000 boring words, and go home. As simple as that sounds, as usual its easier said than done.

If you havent already know, I have a very short attention span. How short? Lets just say 20 minutes of work then I would give up and do something else that may please myself.

The reason why I would make a trip to the library in the first place is cause, well, that attention span last a lot longer in an environment that contains other people who are in a similar boat as I am, slaving away. Having said that, tonight, my work time lasted a total of 1 hour, something I probably could not achieve if I stayed at home. Since that hour, I decided to blab here and hence you get to read this.

And since the submission deadline is not tomorrow, I now wonder whether I should stick around and try my best to composing as many words as I can or put it off until tomorrow.

Could have been a potential disaster. Last night a tram was stuck right in the path on the intersection of a train line. Things could have easily gone ugly and I could have ended up stuck and very late.

Initially I thought that some bugger decided to block the path on the train in their overly modified vehicle.

Instead, myself and who knows how many other people, went and pushed the tram and yes, it can be done! Saved the day, and just 10 minutes later than expected.

Its been quite a long day and the week is coming to an end. I felt like I have gotten a lot done today, from metaphorically kicking butt to taking pictures of toilets.

Even if it really was not much. I guess too much slacking and just having a day where I don't slack made the difference.

My race bib came in the mail today.

It was a reminder I'm doing the half marathon next week and I have not been training. I downgraded my event from marathon to the half marathon because of that. Although I find the 'busy' excuse lame I have to use it this time. Well I've also been really lazy. But half marathon it is, 21.1km is still a respectable distance and I'm gonna do it.

For fun runs like these, participants are given timing chips. Timing chips record your overall time and they are used because well, not everyone start the race at the same time. Usually, timing chips are little circular thingys that you attach to your shoe laces.

I just find it weird that for this run, its behind my bib.

I hope I still get to keep my bib after the race. I like to collect them from all the races and fun runs I've participated in.

Am currently slaving away in the library. Well, for the past few weeks, its the story of my life. I do try to get away from this world as often as I can, from camp, to movie outings to just having dinner with friends. If you want to know, I place social life right up there with my academic life, and I try my best to make time for both.

I was looking through quotes for writing, and I found a few interesting ones. Note that this is not by me.

Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia

Writing is not a profession but a vocation of unhappiness

Writing is like prostitution. First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money

Okay, fine. The truth is, I couldn't think of anything to write so I went and google 'writers block'.

    Kangaroo Steak.

And on the pack it says

"Good for you, good for the environment"

Apparently kangaroos need less food than sheep or cattle, and they do not produce greenhouse gases. Bla bla bla, something about fat free, high in protein, iron, zinc and the lot.

In other words, I just contributed to the well being of the environment. Yay! What did you do for the environment today?

My one week semester break is about to end. Just before I start to actually felt that it even began in the first place. Technically this is my last 'holiday/break' as a student. 6 to 8 weeks later, I will be classified as umemployed.

Having hold the student tag for so many years, I'm happy to finally let it go. But not the perks that comes with it. Concession pricing rules. Enough said.

The future is scary as hell. Although I kind of like to go with the flow in life, but there are certain things that should be planned and to be prepared for. Right now, thinking of what lies ahead next year and the years to come is more scary than exciting.

By next year I need to sit for this thing called a 'Job ready' test for my permanent visa application. What on earth is a job ready test? Gonna check out my options to avoid this, which could mean that I won't be going back for the holidays. Wait, I meant early unemployment period.

Currently, Melbourne is hit by a super heavy tropical rain. Rare moments of heavy rainfall. Hopefully it all gets collected in the catchment and that would shut up the water conservatives for a while.

This is the part where I hold my head down and say, I'm not going to do the full Melbourne Marathon this year. It came down to the lack of training and preparation. After all the big talk earlier, well, how embarrassing.

However, I have just signed up for the half marathon.

21.1km is still a challenging distance. But I'll be surprised if I cant finish this one. Yes, even though almost no training. I should go for a run tomorrow.

The race date is on the 11th of October. Not too long to go. Course map can be found here.

    Wish me luck!
